Good campground for a stop over on way to final destination. Easy after hour check in. The sites are tight. Took us two trips around the campground before we got the angel right to pull into our site without running over the sewer connection. It was really nice to have cable on the stop over so no need to try to hook up satelite for one night. Will be staying there again on stop overs.
Not a bad campground. Our site was a very good size, and in a quiet area. However, some sites did look tight. We didn't have the water pressure problem that others have spoken about until the weekened when the place started to fill up. I am sure if it were full the pressure would have been real bad. We did experience the sewer problem on our last day. Went to empty the black tank and the sewer was backed up. Had to stop at dump station on the way out to empty tanks.
This was an OK campground. They need to do some work on their roads, they are gravel and have huge washout spots. We were almost afraid we wouldn't get our rig out of there. Our main complaint though is that they only have 15 amp service for the electric and that was not told to us when we booked. We were told full hook ups which to us meant 30 Amp at least.
Good campground. We were in a site along the back field and it was quiet. They have a lot of great things for the kids to keep them busy, swimming, mini golf, pool and lake for swimming, more than 1 playground. we have been there twice and will be back again next year or maybe even this fall.
We love this place. Small, quiet, clean!! We have camped their twice now, this last trip was for over a week. The owners are very friendly and keep a clean campground. If you want to be right in the heart of Gatlinburg then this is not the place for you, but if you want to enjoy the mountains and have an easy drive into Gatliburg then we highly recommend visiting Smoky Bear.
